Attractions and sights in London are world famous and include The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, in celebration of the new millennium the London Eye was constructed on the south bank of the Thames, the largest ferris wheel ever to be built measuring 135 metres, with 32 air conditioned observation capsules on the exterior and takes 30 minutes to complete one rotation, London is also home to many museums and art galleries including the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the National Gallery which is situated in Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden in London is another well known attraction with plenty of shops and theatres and the Royal Opera House, London’s west end is home to many theatres with performances night after night of Comedy, Drama as well as the classics, Oxford Street in the west end of London is famous for its shopping, high street department stores as well as designer shops, there is an abundance of Restaurants, Bars, Cafes and Fast Food outlets in London selling cuisine from all over the world, Chinese, Indian, Italian, the quality of food varies and not all international cuisine in London is authentic.

London has many open spaces, eight of these areas are parks which used to be royal hunting grounds, now open to the general public including Hyde Park which has been used to host open air concerts, Kensington Gardens and Regents park, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Hampton Court Palace are also open to the public although an entrance fee is payable at the gates.
